Turin Patients
There are varying reports of the number of beds in the military hospital in Turin, but it is likely that several hundred soldiers would have been patients there between May 1917 and the summer of 1919. On 17 November 1917, La Stampa (p.3) reported on an official visit to the hospital and described the British Red Cross facility as being able to accommodate 88 troops and 3 officers. From April 1918 the hospital was handed over to the British Army and it became the 29th (B) Stationary Hospital.
